CREEK&CLIMB

Join us on the beginning of a new adventure, as you take your first steps in kayaking, this five day course will take you from your first steps in a Kayak from learning how to manoeuvre your boat on flat water, to taking your first steps into white water Kayaking.

So if you want a safe and enjoyable introduction to kayaking, then join us for this five day course.

NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Just a willingness to try new things and have a good time whilst learning new skills.

WHAT WE WILL COVER

The first couple of days will be spent getting used to the kayaks, making sure that they are set up specifically for you. Looking at basic kayak strokes, rescue techniques and lots of fun with the opportunity to be as wet or dry as you like.
The third day generally will involve a journey on an easy river whilst looking at improving on the skills learnt over the previous days. The final two days will be spent putting all these new skills together and looking at white water, with a possible white water river trip on the last day

WHAT WE PROVIDE

We will provide you with any equipment that you require be that a kayak, paddle, helmet etc, all we ask is that you give us notice on booking of equipment required whether it is everything or just a single item.

VENUES USED

Peak District has a great network of Canal’s in secluded area’s allowing us to explore this beautiful area at will, based in the New Mills and Whaley Bridge area. Local Rivers such as the Mersey, Goyt and the Derwent which hold their water well will also be used.

Wales has a number of beautiful areas a favourite area is Llyn Padarn and local estuaries for a beautiful trip in the Welsh Countryside and the River Dee offers some white water opportunity all year round.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING

Warm outdoor clothing (fleeces, thermals,)
Footwear you don’t mind getting wet (not flip flops or wellingtons)
Drink (Hot or Cold dependant on time of year)
Waterproof’s,
Swimming Costume/Shorts/Clothes you can get wet in
