Join us as you take your first steps on white water, whether you are looking to kayak on easy white water or class V.
This five day course will give you a good base to start from. Looking at giving you the foundations to paddle safely on white water.
By the end of the course we hope you will have had a fun experience and have learnt some new skills to practice when you leave.
SOME PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
You need to be able to control your boat on flat water with the ability to move your kayak forward, backward and turn, with a confident capsize.
WHAT WE COVER
This five day course will be focused on white water and the skills required to get down the river and play safetly on the way down, some of the skills we will look at will include.
Ferry gliding
Breaking in and out
Reading Rapids
Surfing small waves and holes
Simple Safety
Journeying
WHAT WE PROVIDE
We recommend that you have your own kayak at this time however we can provide any equipment if required, all we ask is that you give us notice on booking if you require any equipment big or small.
VENUES USED
Wales has a number of beautiful rivers, tsome of the rivers we may use include the Dee which you can kayak on all year round, the Llugwy and Glaslyn and many others which are more rain dependant.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING
Warm outdoor clothing (fleeces, thermals,)
Footwear you don’t mind getting wet (not flip flops or wellingtons)
Drink (Hot or Cold dependant on time of year)
Waterproof’s,
Swimming Costume/Shorts/Clothes you can get wet in
